What the Studies Actually Show

The published grounding research is real, but it is small and shaky. The Confounders Hiding in Plain Sight

You are outdoors. You are probably moving. You are in daylight. You are likely relaxed, away from a screen, and doing something you find pleasant. The Verdict on Grounding

So, does grounding work? For lowering inflammation specifically, the honest answer is that there is no good evidence it does anything on its own. The electron-transfer hypothesis is interesting but unproven, the supporting studies are too small and too flawed to trust, and the benefits people report are much more plausibly explained by the sunlight, movement, and calm that come with being outside.
